Mission Statement

Aspire exists to provide economic, social, and personal opportunity through access to higher education for military surviving spouses whose warrior was killed while on active duty, and family caregivers of disabled veterans.

Vision

  • to decrease the number of single-parent households that rely on state or federal assistance
  • to increase the number of qualified applicants for technical, medical, professional and other positions requiring post-secondary training
  • to impact generations of Americans by breaking the cycle of poverty for many who would otherwise have no means of attaining higher education

We accomplish this by providing emotional and financial support to local, state and national surviving spouses of enlisted members and family caregivers of disabled veterans, who have died or been wounded while on active duty on or after September 11, 2001, and have dependent children under the age of 21.

Purpose
Aspire's purpose is to move a fragile segment of our military population, widows, widowers and family caregivers of disabled veterans, toward self-sufficiency and productivity through post-secondary education, and to decrease the number of sole provider households that rely on state or federal assistance.   To increase the number of qualified applicants for technical, medical, professional, or other positions requiring post-secondary training; and to impact generations of Americans by breaking the cycle of poverty for many who would otherwise have no means of attaining higher education.
